Matlab

My favorite example was the one on 3-D Surface Plots, for a variety of reasons. First, I simply thought it was very interesting to learn how to create a 3-dimensional graph from my own code. Throughout high school, there were many times in math and physics when it would have been advantageous to be able to visualize a function of three variables. Now, with Matlab, I can visualize these functions. Second, I thought the specific code itself was fascinating. For example, rather than simply writing a function z = f(x,y), it is first necessary to use meshgrid. In retrospect, this makes sense. However, for someone accustomed to using basic graphing tools on TI calculators, this was not an obvious step. Anyway. These graphs were simply extraordinary with their colors and detail, and I look forward to continuing to experiment with plotting 3-D surfaces.
