The following article concerns reverse-engineering the brain, one of today's fourteen most important goals according to the National Academy of Engineering:

Favorite MATLAB Demonstration

My favorite MATLAB Help demonstration is the Lorenz Attractor Animation found in the Graphics folder of the Demo tab. This program models the orbit around the Lorenz chaotic attractor, a path that is bounded yet neither periodic nor convergent. The animation itself is interesting because it is aesthetically pleasing and bears great similarity to a screen saver. The actual concept behind the animation is also very mysterious to me, and it's intriguing to see the potential of MATLAB in handling this model.
