About me

I am an undergraduate student at Duke University. I plan to graduate to graduate from the Pratt School of Engineering within Duke University. I am currently undecided as to which type of engineering I will major in, although I am leaning towards Civil Engineering. I come from the great state of Colorado and from have lived in Basalt, CO all my life. I am now in North Carolina and am ready to begin the new phase of my life!!!

Hobbies

I enjoying playing soccer, basketball, and even sometimes golf. I enjoying being outdoors and helping other students. One example of my dedication to younger students is the fact that I was a mentor for a 5th grader through the The Buddy Program

My Family

I categorize myself as a Chicano as both of my parents are Mexican. My dad is from Mexico City, Mexico and my mom is from Puebla, Mexico. I also have a younger brother who, just like me, was born in Aspen, CO. I am a First Generation Student and am very proud to represent my family at the higher education level.

Favorite MATLAB Tutorial Video

My favorite MATLAB tutorial video was the Traveling Salesman . I enjoyed this one because it is awesome how MATLAB can create a simple map of the US. Also the fact that it allows the user to be able to choose how many cities it will connect makes it that much more impressive. I never imagined MATLAB, which I though was just like a calculator, could do things like it did in the Traveling Salesman demonstration.
