Bio

Hello everyone, Jason Akers here. I am part of the Class of 2017 and am in the Pratt School of Engineering, hoping to major in Mechanical Engineering. I am a first-generation student and am living in the Jarvis residence hall. I love to play soccer, but I also watch numerous sports as well. I hope to participate in the ASME and AIAA clubs. Finally, this past summer I interned at NASA Langley.

Favorite Matlab Demonstration

My favorite demonstration within Matlab was the graphing of Earth's Topography. To me it is amazing that mathematical formulas and some programming can accurately create (to a certain degree of precision) a 3D model of the Earth's surface, and this technology I have access to it at my fingertips. Meanwhile, this somewhat simple program can represent the Earth, what can a more powerful and complex program do? The possibilities to me seem endless, and I am excited about possibly achieving them.
