About me

I am a student in the Class of 2026 at Duke University. I am in the Pratt School of Engineering and plan on majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Additionally, I hope to earn a dual degree in Vocal Performance.

Name Pronounciation

I honestly do not care how people pronounce my name; many of my friends say it differently. The most common pronunciations (IPA symbols) are [hɛlenɑ], [hʌlenɑ], [hʌlɛnɑ], and [hɛlɛnɑ]. However, the one most people call me (and how I pronounce it) is the last one aforementioned, [hɛlɛnɑ].

Current Courses

As of Spring 2023, I am taking/have taken the following courses:

Interests and Quirks

Here are a few of my interests and quirks.

  • I like to build things. Only if I'm not feeling lazy (and have time) of course.
  • I love to sing (classical) but don't have a favorite artist/composer.
  • I love to play badminton (competitively) and have been since elementary school.
  • I ruptured my left Achilles tendon during badminton training.
  • My favorite color is blue.
  • I have a pet lobster. His name is Robuster. Respect him. No, you cannot eat him.
  • I hate flying on planes.
  • I can't eat spicy food.
