Ruslan Ardashev

Name Pronounciation

If quoting the Wikipedia article on the name Ruslan, one would find "Ruslan is a male given name which means "lion". It can also mean "great" or "huge". " (Hello ladies ;)) It is pronounced "roos-LAHN," with the accent on the second syllable.

The family name, Ardashev, is pronounced "AR-dah-shev," accentuating the Russian-ness of it with the Russian word for yes, "dah," right in the middle. A pirate would pronounce it "ARRRRR-dah-shev."

Favorite Demonstration

My favorite Demonstration was "The Game Of Life." This is because it really amazes me how calculating various survival rates and trends in biology, such a complex subject, can become "astonishingly simple" using Engineering. I was particularly impressed with the animation as well -- a set of simple equations rendered an animation similar to that one would see under a microscope.
