About Me

My name is Danny Goodman and I am a freshman undergraduate engineer at Duke University. I currently intend to be a biomedical engineer, but I am interested in electrical engineering as well. I am also a member of the Duke University Marching Band, specifically the drumline.

Name Pronunciation

The pronunciation of my name is pretty straight forward. To spice things up a tad I will include the pronunciation of my full given name. My name is Paul Daniel Jose Goodman Marcano (the last word is my mother's maiden name). This is pronounced "P(ALL) D(ANNE)-yool ho-SAY GOOD-m(anne) mar-KAHN-o", but you can just call me Danny. That's D(ANNE)-eee. [note: in order to pronounce my last name like my ancestors did before me requires a third syllable in the name. Example: GOOD-may-uhn. Just a product of my southern roots.]

Grand Challenges

Posted below is an article related to one of the Grand Challenges for Engineering. This article is about infrastructure of urban areas.

Matlab Demonstrations

My favorite matlab demonstration from the homework 2 assignment was the Viewing a Penny tutorial. It was very interesting to see matlab graph such an accurate depiction of the penny from measurements taken of the height of a penny. It shows just how versatile matlab is and how it can graph outside data sources.
