I am a freshman at Duke University in the Class of 2014. I am planning to major in Biomedical Engineering or the dual BME/ME major in the Pratt School of Engineering. I grew up and lived my entire life in Santa Barbara, California before coming to Duke.

Name Pronunciation

My name, Oriane Matthys, is French. My first name is pronounced "or" (as in "either/or") + "eee" (as you would pronounce the name of the letter "E") + "anne" (as in the name). My last name sounds like "math" (as in the subject) + "isss" (as you would pronounce the sound "hiss" but without the "h").
