My favorite demonstration in mat lab was the traveling salesman. This is because binary integer programming is not something I have ever had the chance to interact or deal with. Most importantly though, I thought the actual problem was quite interesting in trying to figure out the most efficient route. The application of this problem could definitely be used in other calculations of efficiency.
