About Me

I am a freshman undergraduate at Duke University planning to major in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Name Pronunciation

The name "Robert" sounds like how most Americans would pronounce it. "Gitau" is pronounced the way it looks separated as "GI-tau", with a hard "G". The "-tau" sounds exactly like the Greek letter Tau. Or, if you prefer, "-au" rhymes with "ow" as in "Ow, my leg!"

Current Courses

As of Fall 2015 I am taking:

  • EGR 103: Computational Methods in Engineering
  • Writing 101: Consuming African Cities
  • MATH 212: Multivariable Calculus
  • Japanese 101

Grand Challenges for Engineering Article

As a gamer myself, I found this article to be particularly interesting:

My Favorite MATLAB Demonstration

Out of all the demonstrations I viewed in the MATLAB help window, the Minesweeper demonstration was my favorite. It was fun to play with, even though I did lose quite frequently.
