About Me

I am a student in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University. I am from Laguna Beach, California and graduated from Dana Hills High School.

Name Pronunciation

My name is Michelle Krogius. Michelle is pronounced exactly like Michelle Obama's first name. Krogius is pronounced like "crow-gee-us" with emphasis on the first syllable.

Current Courses

For the Fall 2015 semester I am taking:

  • EGR 103: Computational Methods in Engineering
  • CEE 160: Intro to Environmental Engineering
  • MATH 122: Intro Calculus II
  • FRENCH 101: Elementary French 101

Academic Goals

I hope to graduate with a degree in civil engineering and a minor in political science.

MATLAB Demonstration

My favorite of the MATLAB Demonstrations assigned in Homework #2 was the 3-D drawing app. I enjoyed seeing MATLAB take simple lines drawn and use rotation in order to display a 3-D image. Seeing this app at work showed me MATLAB has much more uses than matrix manipulation.
