About Me

I am a graduate of Forsyth Country Day School, and currently enrolled at Duke University and the Pratt School of Engineering. I was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC and enjoy playing soccer, kayaking, watching sports. At Duke I play club soccer and am studying to be a Mechanical Engineer.

Name Pronunciation

My name is Chase Beason and it is pronounced exactly as one would expect it to be. "Chase" is pronounced just like the verb, and "Beason" is pronounced like "Bee-sun."

MATLAB Exercises

My favorite MATLAB demonstration is the one titled "3D Drawing" because it allows you to create a profile 2D drawing of any shape, and it will generate a 3D image by rotating the 2D drawing around an axis. The 3D images that are generated are often not quite what you would expect them to look like having just drawn the 2D image. The demonstration also helps one understand how MATLAB generates its 3D graphics which is helpful for future programming.
