Introduction

My name is Tian Chan Dong. I was born in China but grew up in South Africa. I graduated from the African Leadership Academy and is now part of the Duke class of 2016!

In just the two weeks I have been in EGR103, this class has been robbing me of sleep and sanity. However, I do plan to survive for another four years.

Grand Challenge

The Grand Challenges are a series of ten problems which has been identified as pressing in our society. One of the most interesting topics is Reverse Engineering of The Brain. Test are been done on simple organisms(such as fruit flies) to better understand the fundamental mechanics of the human brain.

Matlab

One of the most exciting Matlab demos is the 3D graphs because the code used to generate the graphs resemble the vector equations that I am studying in Maths right now. It reminds me of how programming reaches across many disciplines. Bonus: Now I know how to add color to Matlab.... programming can be colorful.....
