About Me
My name is Sebastian Giudice and I am a freshman at Duke University. I was born in Puerto Rico, but have lived in Florida, The Bahamas, and most recently, Malta. I am planning on majoring in BME... hopefully that will work out :)
Grand Challenges For Engineers
Here I have posted an article that has interested me regarding one of the Grand Challenges For Engineers.

MATLAB Demonstrations
My favorite MATLAB Demo was the one that demonstrated how to create a 2D and 3D representation of the Earth's topography. It is my favorite because it clearly identifies all of the steps necessary to convert a 2D contour of the countries on Earth, to creating a 2D image of the topography of the earth and converting it into an accurate spherical representation of Earth's topography. This is done by first plotting the points on Earth that have an altitude of 0m, outlining the continents. Then, shades of blue and green are added to the plot in order to demonstrate the different altitudes of land and depths of water. This is done by loading the data points of these altitudes which, I assume, correspond to a color key. Lastly, the flat image of the earth is converted into a 3D Sphere using the SPHERE function.
