CB-68LP Pinout
The National Instruments CB-68LP or CB-68LPR connection blocks allow for simple connections to NI data acquisition cards through a ribbon cable. They have screw-operated window connections that allow for quick connections to wires.

Mapping
The following chart lists the different connections as laid out on the National Instruments CB-68LP and CB-68LPR connection block when used in conjunction with the National Instruments PCI 6014e or 6221 Data Acquisition Card. The list under the table describes the most commonly used channels.
The most commonly used channels are:
- ACH# - analog input channel number #
- Note, in differential mode, ACH0-ACH7 measure the + terminal voltage while ACH8-ACH15 measure the - terminal voltage for channels 0-7, respectively.
- Each voltage is measured with respect to AIGND
- DAC#OUT - analog output channel number #
- Each voltage is set relative to AOGND
- DIO# - digital input/output (I/O) channel number # (6014e only)
- Each voltage is measured or set relative to DGND
- DIO#P@ - digital input/output (I/O) channel number # on port @ (6221 only)
- Each voltage is measured or set relative to DGND
- AIGND - ground (0 V) for the analog input channels
- AOGND - ground (0 V) for the analog output channels
- DGND - ground (0 V) for the digital I/O channels
Items in bold are the same for both cards; items in bold italics are functionally the same for both cards: Port 0 Digital I/O on the 6221 works the same as the Digital I/O on the 6014e. Each port can be configured as input or output - the individual channels in a port must all do the same thing. Note that the main places the cards differ is that the 6221 has a total of 24 DIO channels split among three ports while the 6014e only has 8 channels tied to a single port.

Differential Channels
When the DAQ card is reading voltages in differential mode, two voltage measurements are required to actually measure a voltage difference. For the CB-68LP in conjunction with either the PCI 6014e or 6221 card, each differential input channel uses two lines - the line that is the same number as the channel is the + terminal and the line that is 8 higher than the channel is the - terminal. For example, taking a voltage on differential channel 4 would mean calculating the voltage difference between ACH4 on Line 28 and ACH12 on Line 61. The chart below shows the analog input channels but is labeled in terms of the positive and negative channels for differential mode:

Remarks
The newest version of the DAQ toolbox limits the 6014e cards to sampling frequencies below that of which it is capable. To bring back the original functionality, edit:
C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R-----\toolbox\daq\daq\private\mwnidaq.ini
or
C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R-----\toolbox\daq\daq\private\mwnidaqmx.ini
to change the rates back.
