Background Information

My name is Rohan Rajan, and I am a freshman studying engineering at Duke. I plan on entering either ECE or Environmental engineering.

Hobbies and Interests

I enjoy reading, video games, ping pong, and eating good food. Pecan pie is, in my opinion, the greatest dessert ever created, with jalebi coming in close second. Favorite books include Name of the Wind, Fight Club, The Sound and the Fury, and The Road.

Grand Challenge Links

Solar cell absorbs high-energy light at 30-fold higher concentration than conventional cells, Lynn Yarris, Phys.org, Updated 2 September 2015, accessed 13 September 2015.

China spends big on nuclear fusion as French project fall behind, Fred Pearce, Newscientist, Updated 23 July 2015, accessed 13 September 2015.

Matlab Demonstrations

My favorite Matlab demonstration is that of the Loma Prieta Earthquake, because it demonstrates just how many options Matlab gives users in order to create graphs, such as creating sets of graphs using subplot. It also shows the real life applications of using Matlab, as Matlab is used to plot and analyze seismic data from the Loma Prieta earthquake.
