About Me
I am a freshman in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University- Go Blue Devils! I'm originally from Austin, Texas, so I'm excited to (hopefully) see some snow this winter! I miss my family and friends back home, but mostly I miss my golden retriever, Bugs. What I lack for in height I make up for in optimism and sarcasm. I'm a problem solver, runner, musician, and TexMex enthusiast. My spirit animal is a honey bee.
Name Pronunciation
My name, "Erin Simons," is pronounced "AIR-in SIGH-munz." My last name is not pronounced "SIM-ins" because that is how "Simmons" is pronounced, and my name only has one "m."

Favorite MATLAB Demonstration
My favorite MATLAB demonstration was the Earth's Topography example. It was interesting to see the different ways that topographic data can be displayed, like with contour plots, 2-D image plots, and 3-D plots. I enjoyed running the file and then using the "Rotate 3D" button to "spin" the globe.
