The coolest thing about me (at the moment) is that I took a gap year after I graduated high school in the class of 2021. I traveled through several countries in South and Central America and ended up in France and Spain for my last month. The purpose was to take a break since I experienced ''severe'' burn out at the end of my senior year of high school and knew I would not be successful going into college right away. I'm also very passionate about languages and had always wanted to improve my Spanish skills in order to communicate better with my mom's side of the family. When my parents presented me with the opportunity to explore the world on my own, practice my language skills, and find a new perspective on life, my answer was immediately an ecstatic '''YES'''. It truly did change me and I highly, highly, ''highly'' recommend it. No matter how old you are, do it. You only live once!

BACKGROUND

My name is Kala Luna Siddalingaiah and I am a 19 years old. I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI.

CURRENT OCCUPATION

I'm starting my first year as a Pratt Engineering student at Duke University!

GAP YEAR

The coolest thing about me (at the moment) is that I took a gap year after I graduated high school in the class of 2021. I traveled through several countries in South and Central America and ended up in France and Spain for my last month. The purpose was to take a break since I experienced severe burn out at the end of my senior year of high school and knew I would not be successful going into college right away. I'm also very passionate about languages and had always wanted to improve my Spanish skills in order to communicate better with my mom's side of the family. When my parents presented me with the opportunity to explore the world on my own, practice my language skills, and find a new perspective on life, my answer was immediately an ecstatic YES. It truly did change me and I highly, highly, highly recommend it. No matter how old you are, do it. You only live once!
