It was cool seeing a contour map(which is generally reserved for topography in my mind) of a penny and then seeing it translated into plots. The pseudocolor plot with color map gave a surprisingly accurate and immediately identifiable penny face. This humorously contrasts with the surface plot with color map where the image makes you cringe as the corners are tearing and the resolution looks like it has about 12 pixels in total.

My favorite Matlab demonstration: Viewing a Penny

It was cool seeing a contour map(which is generally reserved for topography in my mind) of a penny and then seeing it translated into plots. The pseudocolor plot with color map gave a surprisingly accurate and immediately identifiable penny face. This humorously contrasts with the surface plot with color map where the image makes you cringe as the corners are tearing and the resolution looks like it has about 12 pixels in total.
