My favorite demonstration was the one on the Loma Prieta Earthquake. While I didn't understand all the code, it was simple enough for me to get the gist of the commands and comprehend the math. It was also a demonstration of the useful data-handling capabilities of Matlab, particularly when using matrices. The demonstration showed Matlab's versatility in generating graphs as well.
