The Soma Cube demo shows 240 ways to fit the seven pieces, which are like three-dimensional Tetris pieces, together into a 3x3x3 cube. I have had several toys over the years that somewhat resemble the cube in the demo, so it is fun to look at all the different ways to assemble the pieces. MATLAB Demos
Traveling Salesman: I have always been interested in the famous Traveling Salesman problem, so the MATLAB demo that solved the problem was very intriguing. The demo shows a map of the United States, and the user picks the number of cities. The program then shows lines connecting the cities, and gradually improves the path between the cities to make it more efficient. I enjoy watching the program at work, and I like to try to decide on what I think the best path is before the program gets there. (Source used: MATLAB 7.10.0 Demo: Traveling Salesman)
Soma Cube: I found the soma cube interesting because I love different kinds of puzzles, especially three-dimensional puzzles. The Soma Cube demo shows 240 ways to fit the seven pieces, which are like three-dimensional Tetris pieces, together into a 3x3x3 cube.
