About Me

My name is Kelsey Wagner, and I'm a freshman at Duke University, playing on the varsity field hockey team. I'm a goalkeeper, and have been playing field hockey for over 10 years. I am planning on majoring in biomedical engineering, but I'm also planning on going premed. I also have a large interest in photography, so I may minor in that or documentary studies.

Grand Challenges for Engineering

There are several Grand Challenges for Engineering, but I chose to find an article regarding the topic of engineering better medicines because that's what I'm interested in. Personalized Medicine: Revolutionizing Drug Discovery and Patient Care, Trends in Biotechnology, updated December 2001, accessed 15 September 2013 (Engineer Better Medicines).

MATLAB Demonstrations

Of all the MATLAB demonstrations, my favorite was the 3D plotting. The example showed me something we haven't yet learned about or experimented with in class, so it was extremely interesting to me to see how a 3D plot works on a 2D surface.
