My favorite MATLAB demonstration was that of the Bending Truss. I thought that the different ways in which it displayed the 12 natural bending modes of a two-dimensional truss was really interesting. I think that through that animation one could surmise many different ways in which a drawbridge would bend and react when put under many different variations of stress in certain areas of the bridge. Also it's really interesting to watch all the ways the truss contorts and bends when it goes through the 12 modes.
