I liked the Loma Prieta Earthquake demo the best because that earthquake occured on my mom's birthday in her hometown and I've heard a lot about it from her.  It was cool to see the actual data from the accelerometer and how that data can be loaded into matlab so that the readers can visualize the earthquake's acceleration.  It also allowed me to see how matlab can be useful in real life situations like viewing the trajectory of a major earthquake.

About Me

My name is Greta O'Brien and I'm from Montclair, New Jersey. I'm a freshman and I live in Wilson. I'm excited about being at Duke!

Favorite MATLAB Demo

I liked the Loma Prieta Earthquake demo the best because that earthquake occured on my mom's birthday in her hometown and I've heard a lot about it from her. It was cool to see the actual data from the accelerometer and how that data can be loaded into matlab so that the readers can visualize the earthquake's acceleration. It also allowed me to see how matlab can be useful in real life situations like viewing the trajectory of a major earthquake.
