This section was inspired by Dr. G's page.  My full name is Emelina Prevost Vienneau. Phonetically, EM-uh-LEEN-uh pruh-VOH vee-EN-oh. Yes the st in Prevost is silent and yes my last name sounds Italian because it ends in an o sound but no it is not Italian (it's French).  Hope that helps!

My general plan as of now is to major in Biomedical Engineering and go to graduate school to do additional research in BME, but that's all I know for now. I'm also taking Physics 151L, Writing 101 (Monkey mind reading) and Spanish 102 (just for fun).  I'm planning on going all the way to 300 and 400 level Spanish courses and studying abroad in Madrid over the summer even though language isn't required.  I also play alto saxophone in the marching and pep bands.

My favorite Matlab example is the volume visualization (last one under Graphics).  Not only does this code produce an aesthetically pleasing plot, but it converts data (specifically from an MRI) from its raw and not readily understandable form to a highly illuminating and comprehensible form that allows one to draw inferences about it.

General Information

Interests

Outside of science and math and everything STEM-related, I absolutely love music, the outdoors, and spending time with my family and friends. And coffee. I played jazz for four years in high school but now I'm a little too busy to do anymore than marching/pep band and listen obsessively. I also love the mountains and love going hiking and doing pretty much anything outdoors- I grew up on a farm in rural NC so I miss the countryside a little bit in Durham. That's about it for now, if you wanna get to know me come talk to me!
