Education

I am in my freshman year at Duke University, Pratt School of Engineering, and I'm leaning towards Electrical and Computer Engineering, because ECE also stands for Exuberant Cape Endeavor!

Thought of the Day

Why are narwhals so impossibly cute?!

Grand Challenges for Engineering

Nuclear Fusion Now a Viable Source, claims Scientist, Ronan McGreevy, Irish Times, updated 12 August 2013, accessed 07 September 2013.

This article is about the possibilities of using nuclear fusion for energy in a cost-effective way; if accomplished, this would be able to provide abundantly safe and accessible energy.

Matlab Demonstration

I enjoyed the three-dimensional knot and the four linked tori models in the gallery section. Especially for the knot, the calculations used to create it were quite complex. It was a good example of how calculus and geometry are interrelated. It was fun to run the codes required and then to rotate the figures in Matlab and see them from all perspectives.
