Hi! My name is Connor Guest. I am a Pratt Star, and part of the class of 2017! I was born and raised in Miami, FL. My interests include anything that involves being outdoors, but I especially love hiking, triathlon, and surfing. I am not sure what type of engineering I want to pursue yet, but I am very interested in the subject of energy and the environment. I am stoked to be at Duke, and I am looking forward to my time here!

My favorite Matlab demo was "Earth's Topography" under the graphics section. I initially thought it was amazing how you can create an outline of all the continents by plotting points that are assigned an altitude of zero. And then to be able to create a topographical map by matching different shades of green with land altitude and shades of blue for sea depth is really cool. This demo shows a very practical usage of Matlab and makes me want to become proficient in the program.
